Doctor of Music Composition Recital at Indiana University

On March 3, 2025, Alexey Logunov presented his Doctor of Music Composition Recital at Auer Hall, Indiana University Jacobs School of Music, featuring a program of recent chamber, electroacoustic, and ensemble works.

The recital opened with the world premiere of …soil… (from Four Landscapes | cut at the Horizon Line, 2024) for electric guitar, electric bass guitar, drum set, piano, and electronics, and included performances of Five Preludes for Piano (2023–2024), Ultramarine (2024, Indiana premiere), On the Blue Sea (2023), and non-place (2024, U.S. premiere).

The program brought together more than twenty performers from the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music, including students, faculty collaborators, and members of the Indiana University New Music Ensemble, under the direction of Jae Hwan Lee.

The recital reflected Logunov’s recent artistic practice, exploring the intersection of contemporary classical music, electroacoustic media, and amplified instruments while bringing together chamber, solo, and large ensemble works within a single program.
